The Nigerian Army has stated that applications are now being accepted for positions within the organization through April 14, 2024.

On March 14, the Nigerian Army tweeted that the application had been available from March 13 and was cost-free.

The Army reported that non-tradesmen and women are now being accepted as part of the 85 Regular Recruits intake.

On its official website, the Nigerian Army also detailed how to apply: “Apply online via the recruitment portal https://recruitment.army.mil.ng. Utilizing the provided username and password, access the aforementioned link.

Application Guidelines for the Nigerian Army Portal

The application form must be filled out completely, submitted electronically, and printed.

After that, print and finish the Guarantor Form as necessary. The application form and the guarantor form must both be submitted in full by applicants to the specified state recruitment facilities.

The National Identity Card/NIN or BVN must be present, and applicants must be unmarried and Nigerian citizens by birth, according to the Army.

According to Nigerian Army Standards, applicants “must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit,” the Army stated.

The applicants must not have any criminal convictions on their records.

A valid birth certificate or age declaration that has been approved by the National Population Commission, a hospital, or a local government council is required for applicants.

A current state of origin certificate is required for applicants.

Male and female applicants must be at least 1.68 meters and 1.65 meters tall, respectively, to qualify.

For non-trades men and women, the applicant’s age cannot be less than 18 or greater than 22; however, for tradesmen and women, the applicant’s age cannot be greater than 26 as of 31 April 2024.

All applicants must have obtained a minimum of four passes in the WASCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB in no more than two sittings.

“Those applying as tradesmen/women must also possess a Trade Test/City Guild Certificate, for example, in addition to the above qualifications.”

Nigerian Army Publishes Recruitment Results and Requests all Candidates to Visit the Website

The Nigerian Army has asked candidates who submitted for the intake of 85 regular recruits in 2024 to check its website to see who has been shortlisted.

The state recruiting screening exercise is planned to begin from May 8–21, 2024, in all 36 states and Abuja, according to a statement released by the Army on Wednesday.

Basic Documents Expected From Selected Applicants

The list of documents that shortlisted candidates must bring to their respective states of origin for the screening operation was also issued by the Nigerian Army.

Shortlisted candidates must bring original copies of their WASCE, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB certificates in a file jacket, as well as a printed certificate bearing a bank’s Bank Verification Number (BVN).

The National Population Commission, the hospital where the applicant was born, the local government council where the applicant was born, or a valid age declaration must all attest to the validity of the applicant’s birth certificate.

Candidates who have been shortlisted must have a current state-issued birth certificate and a WASCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB online scratch card. printouts from the portal that have been filled out in full, including the guarantor forms.

Candidates should also bring a Trade Test / City Guild Certificate, two pairs of plain white T-shirts, one pair of blue shorts, one pair of white socks, and two pairs of white canvas.

Additionally, the police warned applicants that they would be disqualified from the exercise if they altered any of their documentation. They also warned them that they would not be permitted to use electronic, mobile, or recording devices during the entire exercise.
