Kaduna State Teachers Salary Structure and Allowance 2023: Approximately 80% of the 7,600 secondary school teachers recently hired by the Kaduna State administration as part of its education reform agenda have amassed salary arrears ranging from five to seven months.

These instructors, who were hired in mid-2021, were assigned to public secondary schools around the state in mid-2022 but were not paid until early February 2023, except for a handful who received a month’s wage in December 2022.

The Kaduna State Government has made efforts to improve the salary structure for teachers in the state. In 2021, Governor Nasir El-Rufai announced plans to increase teachers’ salaries in order to improve the quality of education in Kaduna State.

The government recognizes the importance of providing competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain qualified teachers, as well as to improve the quality of education in the state.

However, there have been instances of underpayment or non-payment of salaries and allowances for teachers, leading to protests and calls for improved working conditions.

It is crucial for the government to ensure that teachers are fairly compensated for their work and that their salaries and benefits are regularly reviewed and adjusted to reflect the cost of living and inflation.
